What it is
A wall-mounted 7kW charge point wired to its own protected circuit, positioned for a driveway or allocated parking space, with smart charging so it can run on cheap off-peak power. Installed by a qualified electrician with the right protection and notification.
Why it matters for 2030
An EV charger is not an EPC measure, and we do not pretend otherwise — but it adds real letting appeal and future-proofs the property as petrol and diesel sales are phased out. It pairs with solar and a battery so charging can be cheap or self-generated.
Which homes suit it
Properties with off-street parking or an allocated space where a charger and cable run can be installed safely. We check the consumer unit and the incoming supply before quoting.
Grants that apply
The EV chargepoint grant for landlords covers up to 75% of the cost of a socket, to a capped amount, for a number of properties each year. The work is a qualifying electrical installation and we handle the notification.
