Electrical work and EICR
Every rented home in England must have a satisfactory electrical safety report (EICR) at least every five years. We test, fix and certify — and handle full or partial rewires where the report calls for it.
What it is
Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs), the remedial work needed to make a report satisfactory, consumer-unit upgrades, additional sockets and circuits, and full or partial rewiring — carried out and certified by qualified, registered electricians.
A legal duty
Since 2020 landlords in England must have a satisfactory EICR every five years and give the tenant a copy; a failed or missing report can mean fines and an unlettable property. It is also the first thing to sort before insulation or a heat pump adds new loads.
Which properties suit it
Any rental due or overdue an EICR, a property that failed its last report, older installations with rewirable fuses, and homes being upgraded with electric heating, solar or an EV charger that need capacity checked.
